 The concept of “Home Automation” has been in existence for several years. “Smart Home Automation”, “Intelligent Home” are terms that followed and have been used to introduce the concept of networking appliances within the house, shopping mall, office and industry. Home Automation Systems includes centralized control and distance status monitoring of lighting, security system, and other appliances and systems within a house. Home automation enables energy efficiency, improves the security systems, and certainly the comfort and ease of users. The device is controlled all over the world whenever the device is connected to the internet. 

NodeMCU is very popular in Home Automation and also used in many devices which are controlled with the internet. Its Wi-Fi capabilities and Arduino IDE support make it easier for IoT Applications. 

Blynk is a mobile application which has its own server to process user requests. It is an open source application and anybody can use it in their Home Automation to control devices by triggering some commands. It has a nice GUI with Graphs, Timers, Slider, Joystick and even Video Streaming. You can also make your own app and publish it in Google play store. 

You have to provide the SSID and password of the router or a hotspot in the code. Then set up the Blynk app. When we tap the buttons on the Blynk app then the relevant command is sent to the NodeMCU board and it will further process it and control the appliances. There is a set of predefined commands which we give to the NodeMCU so that it can generate the output accordingly.
